Nexus Data Analytics Platform
DSB (in conjunction with our data analytics partner Ezora) have developed an end-to-end, cloud-based data analytics dashboard to enhance the information and data availability for users.
It is user friendly, easy to navigate with instant data upload. As it is a client specific dedicated dashboard it can be accessed anytime from your laptop or mobile phone. All reports can also be printed, and most can be exported to a csv file, to enable further data interrogation.
Data is pulled (on a daily basis) from all available sources including POS systems and payroll interfaces.
- Boost gross margin
- Reduce Waste and inefficiencies
- Improve overall profitability
- Reduce level of till under/overs
- Change your cash office function to a high level review role rather from data inputting
- Ability for data to flow from dashboard to end user accounting packages via API (reducing human error and element of data input involved in accounts preparation)
- You can select whatever date range you require on all dashboards (day, week, quarter, YTD)
- You can view trends easily using the various charts and tables
-
All participation tables have “Click through” functionality to enable you view to product level
Depending on the information available the Nexus system can also help improve the reliability of your cash reconciliation function and reduce payroll hours in your cash office. Nexus sources reports from POS sale system and third party cash handling tills/safes so it can extract the key data to provide :
1. A balanced cash book by tender type that identifies any differences to sales reports.
2. A summary of safe and tills transactions for journal/accounting purposes together with a cross-check to till/safe content reports.
3. A comparison of actual cash sales by till/user per POS v. cash sales actually lodged to the tills/safe – a daily till under/over report can be produced without the need
4. A summary of voids/refunds by till that is sourced directly from POS report.
This system has delivered significant payroll savings and efficiencies in respect of existing client’s cash office procedures (effectively eliminating the requirement to complete a weekly excel cashbook) while also improving the audit trail and reducing the potential for human error.
As a Grocery Store Owner our Nexus data analytics dashboard, for example, will allow you to review the following key metrics on a daily or weekly basis to improve your store performance:
Weekly:
1. Review Store KPI Dashboard for comprehensive overview of all previous week’s KPI’s.
2. Review Weekly Product Performance dashboard for an indication of how sales compare to same week last year.
3. Review Weekly Financial Performance dashboard to monitor your actual cash earnings each week (with comparatives to prior year) to enable you to take actions quickly to reduce overheads if needs be.
4. Review Various Exception Reports to identify anomalies and to review these with the key charge-hands/store manager. The aim here is to remove non-selling or low selling items, and boost margin by selling higher margin products or addressing low margins / excessive waste on others.
5. Undertake a weekly Pricing Benchmark by Product using the benchmarking tools available to identify any opportunities to improve margin on your top selling product lines as compared to your peer stores.
Daily:
1. Review the Waste Analysis on Store KPI Dashboard, and on specifically designed fresh department dashboards, to identify products where waste is similar to the margin. The aim is to address issues identified with excessive waste.
2. Review Sub Dept Dashboard to see how sales by sub dept and margin are tracking for the week.
Review Deli and other fresh sub-dept dashboards to identify anomalies in terms of sales which might lead to changes in ordering/production/range.
Nexus can be tailored to other specific sector/industries as required.
